Township offers residents
free discount prescription drug cards
The
economy continues to hit people all across America
hard, but Homer Township has launched a program that
will put money back in the pockets of its residents,
and at the same time help ensure that they can
purchase much needed medications.
Homer Township has sponsored a program that provides
residents with a free prescription drug discount
card that will save them an average 15% on brand
name medications, and 55% on generic drugs. Because
more than 54,000 pharmacies are under contract
nationwide, the "experience of use" savings are
10-85%. The bearer of the card is guaranteed the
absolute lowest price available for medications. The
card comes pre-activated, and is a bearer card,
meaning no identification or personal information
needs to be given in order to receive one of the
discount cards.
Anyone can use the cards and there is no income or
age requirement. No drugs are excluded and the card
NEVER expires. The cards can be used by people with
no or limited prescription coverage, Senior citizens
who reach their Medicare Part D benefit gap (donut
hole), people with insurance that excludes certain
medication or whose co-pays keep going up and those
on Medicaid who require more than 5 prescriptions.
The cards are accepted at over 80% pharmacies in the
US and Puerto Rico and are a valuable tool in saving
people money on needed medications.
Cards available at the Homer Township Administration
Office located at 14350 W. 151st Street, Homer Glen,
IL 60491. Residents can stop by to request a free
card and a list of participating pharmacies. No
personal information is needed. The cards can also
be printed from the website

Voter Registration...
If you are a new resident to our
community or recently had a change of address (in Will
County), in order to vote in any future election, you
must register no less than 30 days prior to the
election, you must be a U.S. citizen and 18 years old by
election day. Two forms of identification are required,
at least one of which must have your current address.
You can register to vote at the township,
Monday- Friday from 8 am - 4 pm.
Suggested forms of identification:
Driver's License, Birth Certificate,
Utility Bill, Student I.D.,
S.S. Card, Public Aid I.D. or Employee I.D.
The Township has a limited selection of medical supplies
(walker, cane, shower seat, etc...)
that can be borrowed at no cost to
Homer Township/Glen residents.
